One of my favourite blogs at the moment is the Defence in Depth site run by King’s College London’s Defence Studies Department at the Joint Services Command and Staff College. In addition to their blog, which I suggest everyone read, they are are also active on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. The latter highlights some of the research seminars that are undertaken at Shrivenham. This is a great way of disseminating research. The following video is a seminar delivered by Professor John Buckley of the University of Wolverhampton on the subject of ‘Montgomery: Command and Leadership in the 21st Army Group, 1944-45’. This was delivered to DSD’s Second World War Research Group. John has published widely on the British Army in the North-West European campaign of the Second World War. Given my particular focus on leadership, John’s lecture is of interest.
